Second p80 frame kit of purchased for a build. Shipping was fast and on time. Product was correct. Very satisfied.
After reviewing the tips available from the MDX site, It was pretty easy to produce a quality piece. I used spring clamps to hold 2 halves of the jig together, then carefully applied painter's tape all the way around where they met. As recommended, I used a hand drill for the assembly pin holes, which turned out great. For removal of the excess material, I used a drill press and cross slide vice. as per recommendations. If you're very careful, you can get the upper slide area tabs reduced to about .006 inches, leaving very little left to remove. Once everything is done, carefully finish it up with a small sanding block and some 320 grit sandpaper. When you get to the area that needs clearancing for the slide spring, be sure the bit is long enough to avoid damaging the frame. As an example, the longer barrel used on G-17 will require a milling bit to protrude about 1/2 inch further from the drill head, than it would for clearancing the G-19 frame. For a little flexibility, pick up a cheap set of assorted mills. I got 10 for $12. Well worth the money.
P80 really has to get their QC right some of these lowers come with rails that are way out of spec and is not user error at all but besides that the lower was decent I will say choose the mdx lpk because the p80 lpk has given me nothing but trouble
I recommend anyone
